EPSILON BETA OF ALPHA TAU OMEGA
BUILDING COMPANY

Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Membership on November 9, 2002:

The Annual General Membership Meeting of the Epsilon Beta of Alpha Tau Omega Building Company (an Arizona non-profit corporation), at the University of Arizona was called to order at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2002. The meeting was held in the Alpha Tau Omega Alumni tent on the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Approximately 25 members were present.

There was a discussion as to whether the Corporation should begin the process of rechartering the chapter. President Richardson reported on the recommendations of a Board committee and on the decision by the Board at its September meeting. That recommendation was to not begin any rechartering effort at this time, but to revisit the question again in two years. On a motion by Brother David Alspach and a second by Brother Bill Pegler, the recommendation of the Board was adopted.

Treasurer Dwight Eller reported that the Corporation has approximately $241,000 in various accounts, including an investment account with Salomon Smith Barney. He also reported that the Corporation now utilizes the services of a new tax accountant for our tax returns and ACC filings. On a motion by Brother Bill Malcomb and a second by Brother Dick Hamilton, the financial report was accepted.

Brother Malcomb informed the membership that a memorial brick is in place in front of the new Eddie Lynch Athletic pavilion saying "Alpha Tau Omega, Epsilon Beta, Est. 1930". [Click here for pictures and other information.]

There was a question and discussion about the Membership's decision at the last meeting to donate $5,000 toward a planned memorial for past "Wilbur the Wildcats" with an emphasis on Brother Ed Stuckenhoff, the first Wilbur. Brother Malcomb reported that the University has not yet decided how to handle that sort of a memorial. He indicated he would continue to monitor the situation. Brother Larry Adamson suggested a similar memorial brick at McKale honoring Brother Stuckenhoff and also suggested that specific funds be raised for it.

Brother Alspach gave the report of the Nominations Committee. He placed the following names in nomination for membership on the Corporation Board of Directors for 2003: Bill Malcomb '60, Bob Richardson '79, Dwight Eller '55, Bill McMahon '81, Morgan Loew '90, Tim Abeyta '84, David Tick, Theta Theta '76, Tom Sanders '63, Robert Ruikka '58, Steve Ochoa '67, Bert Ratia '85, Anthony Marrs '67, George Booth '54, and Rick Rupkey, Sr. '66. No additional names were placed in nomination. The report of the nominations committee was accepted on a unanimous vote and the 14 Brothers were elected to the Board.

There being no further business, Brother Bill Pegler moved and Brother Bill Havranek seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
