EPSILON BETA OF ALPHA TAU OMEGA
BUILDING COMPANY
Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Membership
The annual meeting of the Epsilon Beta of Alpha Tau Omega Building Company was called to order by David Alspach at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2000.
The meeting was held at the Alpha Tau Omega Alumni Tent on the campus of the University of Arizona. Approximately 30 members were in attendance.
Brother Alspach thanked everyone for their attendance and gave a report on alumni activities in recent months.
He informed the members that he had met with Brother Bob Richardson several weeks prior and asked him to attempt to organize a new Board of Directors for the Building Company. The general thought was that following the demise of the Epsilon Beta Chapter in 1998, several members of the current Board felt it was time for younger Brothers to be more involved.
Brother Bill Malcomb gave a financial report on the current Board investments and activities.
Brother Richardson made some suggestions about how Epsilon Beta might return as a chartered chapter. Those suggestions included being more value-based and less emphasis on social. He suggested we might not invite New Members to join until their sophomore year with an established academic record. He suggested an active management of the chapter with an on-site individual ensuring rules are followed and the property is well maintained.
Brother Richardson placed the following names in nomination for election to the Board of Directors:
Bill Malcomb, Dwight Eller, Bob Richardson, Bill McMahon, David Tick and Tim Abeyta.
The six were elected by acclamation.
Brother Richardson indicated it was likely that the Board would add additional members in the future in an attempt to find a member initiated in both the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
The consensus among the members present was that the new Board should work toward the re-establishment of an active chapter and also keep in close touch and coordination with alumni members in the interim.
There being no additional business, the meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
